🧐 What is Dragon Ball: Anime and Manga
Dragon Ball is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama. It was originally published in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from 1984 to 1995. The story follows the adventures of Son Goku from childhood to adulthood as he trains in martial arts and explores his world. The manga has been adapted into an anime series produced by Toei Animation; three anime movies were also made, as well as two television specials and an OVA (original video animation) special.
The story follows Goku’s adventures from childhood to adulthood, as Goku trains in martial arts and explores the world in search of the seven orbs known as the Dragon Balls, which summon a wish-granting dragon when gathered. Along his journey, Goku makes several friends and fights a variety of villains, many of whom also seek the Dragon Balls for their own wishes.
Son Goku is a human who was sent to Earth as a baby with his tail already cut off, so he does not have a monkey-like physical appearance like other characters of his race (Saiyans). However, he has superhuman strength and speed that allow him to fly at high speed through outer space and use bursts of energy called “ki” attacks; these are based on real-world martial arts moves such as punches or kicks (Tae Kwon Do is one example).
After defeating Frieza on the planet Namek in Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F (2015), Goku decides to live out his days peacefully with his wife Chi-Chi and sons Gohan & Goten while remaining on Earth without training again until they are required again by someone who needs their help to defend against the evil forces that threaten the existence of humanity once again; but this time things will be different because this threat comes from two mysterious beings named Zeno & Future Zeno who rule the twelve universes within existence.
The manga series was translated into English and published in North America by Viz Media, which has also published it in other countries around the world. The anime series was licensed by Funimation Entertainment for English release in North America and by Madman Entertainment in Australia and New Zealand. The films were distributed by 20th Century Fox (now Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures). The first film, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, was released on March 30, 2013, while the second film, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ (Resurrection ‘F’), was released on April 18, 2015. A new movie titled Dragon Ball Super: Broly was released on January 15, 2019.
Dragon Ball is a series that has made many fans happy not only because of its action-packed storyline, but also because of its many characters. There are many in Dragon Ball and each of them has their own personality, which makes the story more interesting. For example, Goku is the main character in Dragon Ball, who uses his incredible strength to fight all kinds of opponents. Other characters include Piccolo, Vegeta and Krillin, to name a few.
Besides having a lot of fight scenes, there are other things that make this series great for kids: the power levels (a measure used by the characters to gauge their abilities), the transformations (an advanced form that is achieved with intense training) and the humor (comical situations).
